At SnapReceipt, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we handle your data and our commitment to protecting your personal information.
1. Data Collection & "Local First" Philosophy
SnapReceipt is designed as a Local First application.
- No Accounts: We do not require you to create an account or provide an email address to use the core features.
- No PII: We do not collect Personal Identifiable Information (PII) such as your name, phone number, or physical address.
2. Data Storage
All receipt images, extracted text, and financial records are stored locally on your device. We do not maintain a cloud database of your personal receipts. If you delete the app or lose your device, we cannot recover your data unless you have made a manual export or system backup.
3. AI Processing & Image Handling
When you use the AI Smart Scan feature:
- Receipt images are securely transmitted to Google Vertex AI (via Firebase) for high-accuracy text and semantic extraction.
- No Training: Your receipt images and data are NOT used to train AI models.
- No Retention: Images are processed in-memory and are not stored by yystudio after the extraction request is complete.
4. Third-Party Services
To provide a better experience, we use the following vetted services:
- RevenueCat: Manages premium subscriptions and purchase validation. (Privacy Policy)
- Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics: Collects anonymous usage patterns and crash reports to help us fix bugs. No financial data or receipt images are sent to these services. (Privacy Policy)
5. Children's Privacy
SnapReceipt is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
You have full control over your data:
- In-App Deletion: You can delete any receipt or record within the app at any time.
- Complete Removal: Uninstalling the app will remove all locally stored data.
- Request Deletion: Since we do not store your receipts on our servers, there is no server-side data to delete. For any analytics-related queries, contact us below.
